Michael R. Granata
Hydrogeologist, Managing Member
With over twenty-seven years of experience in the environmental industry, Mr. Granata has supervised in excess of $10 million dollars in environmental projects annually. In such an oversight capacity, he has experienced virtually every type of environmental project from remediation of major oil terminals to on-call rapid response contracts.
A Hydrogeologist by training, Mr. Granata began his career in May 1980 investigating, designing and implementing remedial action plans for petroleum releases at retail gasoline stations and bulk storage terminals throughout the northeast.
From 1981 to 1986 Mr. Granata’s experience turned to natural resource management and water rights adjudication, while working with The State of Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Survey, and the Water Resources Division, Department of Natural Resources.
From 1986 to 1997 Mr. Granata served first as Senior Hydrogeologist and Project Manager, then as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for a medium size (125 person) environmental consulting firm with five (5) offices across the Northeast.
Most recently, Mr. Granata is serving in a principal capacity overseeing consultants and field personnel performing real estate risk assessments, Brownsfield Redevelopment and Reclamation, remedial investigations and system operations and maintenance.
Mr. Granata has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Earth Science. Additionally, he has completed industry specific training in hazardous materials and occupational health and safety. He is also current with ASTM 2005 Standards in Environmental Site Assessments and is pursuing his Licensed Environmental Professional designation.
Tina Feola Ostrowski
Managing Member, Chief Executive Officer
Tina is the Co-Founder of GO Environmental. Tina serves as Chief Executive Officer, project manager and liaison with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and regulatory agencies. Tina coordinates all aspects of project development from initial client contact and proposal preparation to final job quality analysis. She received a Bachelors of Science Degree, Magna Cum Laude from Sacred Heart University and GE’s coveted Information Systems Management Program, a two-year proprietary MBA designed to groom graduates for management positions requiring a thorough understanding of technology issues and solutions. Tina is highly effective in communication and customer relations.
Tina’s role at GO Environmental is as diverse and unique as there are individual client needs. Since 1997, Tina has worked in the Environmental Field managing the development of a new commercial environmental consulting division, later to become GO Environmental with her business partner, Michael Granata, by targeting Financial Lending Institutions and Commercial Realtors to provide high quality realistic environmental site assessments for commercial properties and transfers. Tina has over 9 years training in environmental consulting including hands-on subsurface investigations and remediation. Tina has worked for IBM, GE Capital and Coopers & Lybrand developing new client accounts through thorough research and understanding of the clients’ needs and goals.
Tina has attended numerous ASTM Technical & Professional Training courses on Environmental Investigations and is current with the State of Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs) and The CT Transfer Act. Tina has served on the Board of the Network of Executive Women and the Milford Rotary and is a recipient of several awards of distinction for her service. She is also a member of the Environmental Professionals of Connecticut; Society of Women Environmental Professionals, The Rotary Club of Milford, and the Milford, Norwalk, and New Haven Chambers of Commerce.
Daniel E. White, LEP
Senior Hydrogeologist
Mr. White has more than 16 years experience in the environmental industry, supervising projects ranging from removal of leaking underground storage tanks to investigation and remediation of large industrial sites.
A Hydrogeologist by training, Mr. White began his environmental career in January 1991 investigating, designing and implementing remedial action plans for Federal “Superfund” sites in New York and New Jersey. From 1994 through 2002, he was employed as an environmental consultant overseeing a wide variety of environmental investigation and remediation projects including gasoline service stations, nursing homes and hospitals, dry cleaning facilities, auto wrecking facilities, and large industrial facilities.
From 2002 through 2007, Mr. White served as an Environmental Analyst for the Remediation Division of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (CTDEP), overseeing the investigation and remediation of properties under several State programs including: Property Transfer Program, Voluntary Remediation Program, RCRA Corrective Action, Potable Water Program, Brownfields Redevelopment Program, and Significant Hazard Notification. In particular, Mr. White managed sites with complex hydrogeological issues. During this period, Mr. White was a member of the revision committee for the CTDEP “Site Characterization Guidance Document”. In addition, Mr. White was an active member of the ASTM International committee revising the ASTM “E1903-97(2002) Standard Guide for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase II Environmental Site Assessment Process”. Mr. White was also a presenter for the groundwater portion of the DEP “Remediation Standard Regulations” seminar in 2007.
Mr. White has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science/Geology and a Masters of Science degree in Earth Science/Hydrogeology. Dan is a member of the Education Committee (EdComm) of the Environmental Professionals Organization of Connecticut (EPOC). He is also a Connecticut Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP #447).
Jonathan D. Foss
Environmental Analyst, Project Manager
Mr. Foss earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Connecticut in 1998. Since that time, he has worked as an environmental consultant in the State of Connecticut. Mr. Foss has conducted over 300 Phase I and Transaction Screen Site Assessments and numerous Phase II, and Phase III Site Investigations. He has a broad range of experience with matters including underground storage tanks, LUST closures, airborne mold/air quality sampling, low-flow groundwater sampling, and environmental research and records review. Mr. Foss is a State of Connecticut Licensed Asbestos Inspector. He is also current with ASTM 2005 Standards in Environmental Site Assessments, and has completed the ATSM Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Practices for Commercial Real Estate training course. Mr. Foss recently completed the State of Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs) Fundamental Review Course.
Katie S. Johnson
Environmental Analyst
A recent alumna of Boston University’s College of Arts and Sciences, Ms. Johnson graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Policy and Analysis in the spring of 2006. With a tract elective of International Environmental Policy, she has completed coursework in an array of Environmental disciplines including Risk Assessment, Economics, Law, Modeling, and National and International Policy. Currently, Ms. Johnson is working as an Environmental Analyst for GO Environmental conducting Transaction Screen Assessments and Phase I Site Assessments as well as GPR supervision and Phase II field assistant activities. Katie is also current with ASTM 2005 Standards in Environmental Site Assessments, and has recently completed the State of Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs) Fundamental Review Course
Timothy L Douthit
Director of Technical Services
As manager of Land Tech Remedial, Inc.'s Farmingdale, New York office since December, 1993, and as Director of Applied Sciences with Handex since their acquisition of Land Tech Remedial, Inc. in September, 1998, Mr. Douthit has been directly involved in all aspects of petrochemical release management, including assessment, remediation system feasibility testing and implementation, regulatory negotiation and closure. For In Aqua Veritas, LLC, Mr. Douthit is primarily responsible for management and implementation of the technical aspects of the company’s environmental fate and transport modeling, risk-based corrective action and natural attenuation services. To that end, recent projects include the regulatory advocacy and application of risk-based corrective action (RBCA) in several states, refinement of air sparging techniques, risk assessment utilizing computer-based dissolved-phase contaminant fate, transport and 3-D visualization modeling, co-producing guidance documents on field analytical methods for the American Petroleum Institute (API), and protocol development for field documentation of in-situ, intrinsic bioremediation at petrochemical release sites for a major oil company. Additional activities include the development, calibration and implementation of proprietary computer software for the application of Domenico (1987), Baetsle (1969) and Johnson and Ettinger (1991) contaminant fate-and-transport equations. A primary focus of these applications is the better understanding and quantification of indoor air exposure scenarios.
Mr. Douthit has been a member of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) Risk-Based Corrective Action Advisory Group, the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Task Group on Remediation by Natural Attenuation (RNA), and was a co-author of the ASTM Standard Guide for Remediation by Natural Attenuation at Petroleum Release Sites (E-1943).
